Programs
The Minnesota Environmental Initiative (MEI) works on a range of environmental issues to harness the diverse perspectives of individuals working in Minnesota’s public, private and nonprofit sectors.
*Fostering Dialogue. MEI’s Business and Environment Series fosters networking, peer-to-peer learning and creative discussion on issues impacting Minnesota’s business community. Series topics have included sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon management.
*Seeking Solutions. MEI convenes and manages longer-term discussions among people with diverse interests and perspectives to address complex problems like green house gas reduction, chemical regulation and water quality in order to find common ground and identify consensus-based solutions.
*Implementing Change. Over 1,700 school buses and 200 heavy duty-diesel vehicles have been retrofitted with pollution control equipment, protecting air quality and health, through MEI’s partnership-driven, Project Green Fleet.
