Programs
Audubon Minnesota launched its “Lights Out – Bird Safe” program aimed at dimming skyscraper lights along the Mississippi Flyway in Minneapolis-St. Paul during migration to reduce the bird fatalities resulting from collisions with windows. To date, 22 tall buildings have signed our lights out commitment.
Audubon Minnesota organized a community-based conservation planning workshop for the Vermillion River Bottoms Important Bird Area, a 28,000 acre floodplain forest along the Mississippi River near Red Wing, MN. About 20 people attended representing a variety of agencies and organizations.
